This is my first trip to Cambodia. So I decided to stay in Siem Reap and visit Angkor Wat and the temples nearby. Angkor Wat is one of the 7 wonders of the world. It took 30 years to build, using only manpower without the modern technology machineries.
We ended up in the cultural village on the 1st day. 2nd day was around Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat. 3rd day was around the temples northeast of Angkor Wat. On the 4th day, we went to the biggest lake in South East Asia, Tonle Sap Lake. In the afternoon, we visited the Roluos Group. We managed to grab some souvenirs in the Old Market and Central Market before sunset, which marked the end of our stay in Siem Reap. It's a pleasant 5 days stay in Siem Reap. Although the Cambodians live in poverty with an average daily salary of USD1, it doesn't stop them from being kind, warm, friendly and helpful.

SERI PURI BBQ - 18th FEB 2006
A small gathering at my place. Most of us work in KL, which means waking up in the morning, go to work and coming back home late at night. Some of us even work on weekends. We hardly have time to even say 'HI' to our neighbours. That's why once in a while, I'd organise a gathering for my SFI friends to get together.
Who's birthday's next????

BALI ISLAND - 6th to 10th OCTOBER 2005
Bali...the land of the Gods. We visited Bali for the first time, after hearing so much from our friends. A very interesting place to visit; the culture, people, food, woodcraft and many more. We flew in from KLIA, barely 5 days after the 2nd bomb struck the once peaceful island on 2 places, Kuta Town and Jimbaran beach.
We managed to go to Kuta and see the aftermath of the bombing. Glasses, broken furnitures and bricks were everywhere. To be exact, Restoran Raja is the place where the bomb exploded.
Among other places that we visited are Denpasar market, Kintamani volcano, hilly paddy terrace, Ubud(famous for artcraft), Jimbaran beach, Animal Island(off Sanur beach), Uluwatu Temple and Tanah Lot.
Definitely a recommended place to visit for a short vacation.

Pangkor Island, one of the few islands in M'sia that is still clean. Followed a friend on her company trip. Managed to sneak out for our own tour. Overall, not bad.

BUKIT TINGGI - 21st NOV 2004
Bukit Tinggi...30 mins drive from Genting Highlands. A good place to relax, but really nothing much a person can do there. Also know as the "French Village" as the design and architecture resembles the French countryhome.

Gurney drive is a cool place to visit at night. On our way back, we stopped at Ipoh for the famous Chicken Hor Fun.

CAMERON HIGHLANDS - 16th to 17th OCTOBER 2004
Cameron Highlands is one of 3 cold places in Malaysia, other than my air-cond room. We stayed at Kowloon Hotel, run by a friend's father of mine. The steamboat there is very nice, especially on cold nights. Nothing much to do there, just relax....Took lots of photos, flowers, strawberrys, cactus, etc. The night market at Brinchang on Saturday night is a place for cheap bargain. Things on sale incl. vege, flowers, food, and many more.

TIOMAN ISLAND - PAYA BEACH RESORT
3 days/2 nights trip to Tioman with friends. Drove from Melaka to Mersing. Took a motorboat to Paya Beach Resort. Some passengers in the same boat puked like mad. Stayed for 3 days. Snorkelled, hiked and explored places around Paya Beach. Quite a nice place, though.... Will come again next time....
